Secret Journey III:
Tolstoy - 20th century |
|
The beauty of this landscape dazzled me and gave me unexpected strength.
For its final secret, the Maison de Haute Ecriture honours a great Russian writer of the 20th century, Leo Tolstoy, and takes us to Montreux and the magic of those mysterious mountains which so inspired him. This last edition of the Trilogy links yellow gold and white lacquer in perfect harmony, suggesting the vast snowfields of the Russian winter. On the body of the writing instruments, a delicate decoration symbolizes the banks of the Léman. A secret mechanism, activated by hand, removes the Côte de Genève so well known in the world of watchmaking and reveals the authors words: The beauty of this landscape dazzled me and gave me unexpected strength. As a final tribute, a sapphire marks the position of Montreux. So many symbols say a great deal about this important philosopher. |
