Recognisable by its colour and its very fine grain, rosewood is a precious wood that comes from a rare tropical species. It presented a special challenge to Caran d’Ache craftsmen: since it is a living material that alters over time, it has to be carefully stabilized to remain in perfect condition throughout the life of the instrument. Combined with silver-plating rhodium-coating, this rare material gives the Metwood line a highly distinctive natural beauty.
